{"id":1624,"date":"2011-07-24T22:52:45","date_gmt":"2011-07-25T04:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tom-nan.com\/2011\/07\/gatlinburg-tennessee-vacation\/"},"modified":"2011-07-24T22:52:45","modified_gmt":"2011-07-25T04:52:45","slug":"gatlinburg-tennessee-vacation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/index.php\/2011\/07\/24\/gatlinburg-tennessee-vacation\/","title":{"rendered":"Gatlinburg, Tennessee Vacation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today was our first full day here.&nbsp; We drove up Friday, left late so we stopped for the night in Fort Payne, Alabama, home of the country band Alabama.&nbsp; We went to the fan club and museum and then resumed our way towards Gatlinburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we get to Pigeon Forge, we had to find our way to the realty that manages the cabins, then we had to find our way to the cabin.&nbsp; The traffic here is horrendous\u2026 worse than the Long Island Expressway.&nbsp; The route up to the cabin entails driving up Ski Mountain road and then some steep and windy roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The video doesn\u2019t do the trip justice, the trip down the hill in some locations is a 40 degree angle\u2026 going up the hill these locations are places where I couldn\u2019t go anywhere unless I was in first gear on an automatic transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today while we were downtown we saw some cool stuff.&nbsp; This town reminds me a lot of places we visited while we were in Germany.
