(picking up where we left off in part 1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Find the beginning of the first beat of music at the beginning of the record side and then click just before the music starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"620\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image.png?w=780\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3814\" title=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click the \u201cEdit\u201d menu, then \u201cSelect\u201d and click \u201cTrack Start to Cursor\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"596\" height=\"466\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/selecttrackstarttocursor.jpeg?w=596\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3815\" title=\"SelectTrackStartToCursor\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hit the \u201cDelete\u201d key on your keyboard.&nbsp; You\u2019re deleting the leader up to the point where your cursor is, so make sure you really put the cursor before the music starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Find the end of the first song and put your cursor at the end of it where you want the first mp3 file to end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click the \u201cEdit\u201d menu, then \u201cSelect\u201d and click \u201cTrack Start to Cursor\u201d and then CTRL+X to cut the song out of the file onto the Windows Clipboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select \u201cFile\u201d and then \u201cNew\u201d to Open a second copy of Audacity and hit CTRL+V to paste the first song into the new copy of Audacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This step is not required, I do it in case I need to tinker with the audacity file if I don\u2019t like the way the mp3 turns out.&nbsp; Save the file as \u201cTrack01\u201d in audacity\u2019s native format \u201c.aup\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click the \u201cFile\u201d menu, Select \u201cExport\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This window pops up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"571\" height=\"423\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image1.png?w=571\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3816\" title=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click the Options Button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This screen pops up:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"382\" height=\"208\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image2.png?w=382\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3817\" title=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the \u201cSpecify MP3 Options\u201d screen, select the options you want to use to encode the mp3 file.&nbsp; I like constant bit rate, 192 kbps and \u201cJoint Stereo, then click the OK button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"306\" height=\"178\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image4.png?w=306\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3819\" title=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019re back on the previous screen. Name the file \u201cTrack01\u201d and click the save button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"571\" height=\"423\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image3.png?w=571\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3820\" title=\"image\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Select OK from the window that pops up, don\u2019t worry about adding tags to the file just yet.&nbsp; We\u2019re going to do them later in part 3 with MP3TAG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Step 23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repeat Steps 11 \u2013 22 for each cut on the album (both sides) except make sure you name them sequentially. Side 2 track 1 would be \u201cTrack06\u201d if there are 5 songs on side 1 of the record\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you\u2019re done, you\u2019ll have the same number of MP3 files named Track01.mp3 through Track10.mp3 (or however many songs are on the album).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the end of cutting the file into individual songs and exporting them to mp3.
