{"id":466,"date":"2008-06-30T08:00:25","date_gmt":"2008-06-30T14:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tom-nan.com\/archives\/466"},"modified":"2023-12-31T00:46:27","modified_gmt":"2023-12-31T06:46:27","slug":"city-diner-spenard-alaska","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/index.php\/2008\/06\/30\/city-diner-spenard-alaska\/","title":{"rendered":"City Diner &#8211; Spenard, Alaska"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Posted at Breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/dsc_0004-3.jpeg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4516\" title=\"DSC_0004\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/dsc_0002.jpeg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4517\" title=\"DSC_0002\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We found a really cool diner not far from the Hotel when we got into the Anchorage area and have been here a few times.&nbsp; Since we&#8217;re rolling out of town today I thought I&#8217;d post a little about it&#8230;&nbsp; The menu has some pretty cool choices.&nbsp; It&#8217;s been busy every time we&#8217;ve come here and we think the food is great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is some of the City Diner &#8220;Lingo&#8221; from their menu:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&#8220;In the Alley&#8221; &#8211; On the side<\/li><li>&#8220;&amp; Tears or Cry&#8221; &#8211; With onions<\/li><li>&#8220;The Radio&#8221; &#8211; Tuna fish<\/li><li>&#8220;On wheels&#8221; &#8211; To go<\/li><li>&#8220;Rabbit food&#8221; &#8211; Lettuce<\/li><li>&#8220;Bun Pup&#8221; &#8211; Hot dog<\/li><li>&#8220;Hot Mud&#8221; &#8211; Coffee<\/li><li>&#8220;Sweet Alice&#8221; &#8211; Milk<\/li><li>&#8220;City Juice&#8221; &#8211; H2O<\/li><li>&#8220;Raft&#8221; &#8211; Toast<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They have items on their Menu like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Neptune which is an omelette with Bay Shrimp, Avocado, Tomato and Hollandaise sauce<\/li><li>The Carnegie which is a Hot Pastrami &amp; Swiss on Rye<\/li><li>Moby Micks which is a Fried Halibut, Cheddar, Lettuce Pickle and tarter on a bun<\/li><li>Tuna Melt which is a &#8220;Radio&#8221; salad with Cheddar Grilled on whole wheat.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their menu has a lot of stuff, most with interesting names as you can see.&nbsp; I&#8217;ve just listed a few to give an idea what&#8217;s here.&nbsp; The staff here are very friendly and always make sure your coffee cup is full.&nbsp; If you&#8217;re ever in the Anchorage area I would recommend a stop at the City Diner on the corner of Northern Lights and Minnesota.&nbsp; It&#8217;s Great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/dsc_0003-1.jpeg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4518\" title=\"DSC_0003\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Posted at Breakfast.
