{"id":542,"date":"2008-07-02T21:00:13","date_gmt":"2008-07-03T03:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tom-nan.com\/archives\/542"},"modified":"2023-12-31T00:47:34","modified_gmt":"2023-12-31T06:47:34","slug":"night-12-the-alaskan-host-bed-and-breakfast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/index.php\/2008\/07\/02\/night-12-the-alaskan-host-bed-and-breakfast\/","title":{"rendered":"Night 12 &#8211; The Alaskan Host Bed and Breakfast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last night was a real treat.&nbsp; We stayed in Willow, AK at the Alaskan Host B&amp;B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/dsc_0013-2-1.jpeg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4455\" title=\"DSC_0013\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/dsc_0016-2.jpeg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4456\" title=\"DSC_0016\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We arrived late due to to the late arrival of our boat from the cruise.&nbsp; We stayed in the Alaska Room.&nbsp; When we got in the room I noticed two home video tapes.&nbsp; They were video of local wildlife and the Aurora Borealis. One of the really cool things is our host, Jim, is in the video at various times with Moose.&nbsp; He held a bow over his head and walked up to several of the moose.&nbsp; The video contained a tour of their B&amp;B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we awoke we were greeted as friends and treated to a waffle breakfast with moose sausage.&nbsp; Nan was not used to the moose sausage, it tastes different because of the different flavors of the moose meat and the seasonings used to make it.&nbsp; Over breakfast we talked about the things that Jim and Kathy were working on to make the B&amp;B nicer.&nbsp; We were given a small tour of the house.&nbsp; One of the rooms even has an outhouse in it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/dsc_0003-2.jpeg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4457\" title=\"DSC_0003\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/dsc_0006-1.jpeg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4458\" title=\"DSC_0006\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"511\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/dsc_0011-3.jpeg?w=511\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4459\" title=\"DSC_0011\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"511\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/tom-nan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/dsc_0012-4.jpeg?w=511\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4460\" title=\"DSC_0012\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We enjoyed the stay and the hospitality of our hosts, Jim and Kathy Huston.&nbsp; I would recommend this B&amp;B to anyone looking for a place to stay.&nbsp; Thank you, we&#8217;re hooked on B&amp;Bs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last night was a real treat.&nbsp; We stayed in Willow, AK at the Alaskan Host B&amp;B.
