Wow, where does all the time go? Before you know it, it’ll be 2010!
It’s been busy as usual around our place. We helped Nancy’s sister get a place. Just about everything is done except for the dryer vent and the electrical circuit for the dryer. Will need to pull a permit for the electrical work and will need to renew the one for our house too.
Nan put the “tree” up last night. It looks good. Mindy and Jordan helped her with a tiny bit of help from me. We even put the 22 year old candy canes on it. We’ve been putting candy canes on the tree since the first year we were married. Over the years we’ve had to replace a few of them, but for the most part, we still have some from back in 1987, and the DO look old. I’m out on the road, when I get home I’ll put some lights up outside. and maybe make some outside decorations.
I’m most of the way through the term of classes towards my Masters degree… two classes at a time is way to much for someone to handle and keep any kind of regular life. I have a final on Friday and the other final will be on next Tuesday. I’m going to either take one or no classes next term… haven’t made my mind up yet.
One of the classes I have has an interesting project for a final project. It’s a security audit of your personal information. I did some of the research over the weekend including the “empty your wallet on the table” and inventory it to see exactly what a thief has if they steal it. All I can say is SCARY. If you carry your Social Security card… don’t. If you carry something else with your social security number on it… don’t. Same goes for you ladies if you carry a purse. The checklist my professor has us go through is quite exhaustive. I was pretty good in most areas he had us look at, but there were a couple of things that I never thought about being possible sources of ID theft.
The driveway at the house looks vacant. Rob only has one car now and Chris’ truck is parked around the corner at a friend’s house for a short time. We’re going to get the driveway replaced to fix the growing sink hole that seems to be developing under it.
Here is a link to a YouTube playlist of a Dateline MSNBC series on Identity Theft that I watched as part of my research for class. The first is scary, if you sit through all of them you’ll have seen the entire series. All of the videos should play one after the other from the magic of YouTube.
